VANCOUVER, British Columbia – February 2, 2010 – Hothead Games announced that it has received one of Macworld’s coveted “Eddys” - one of the publication’s 2009 Editor’s Choice Awards (http://www.macworld.com/article/144840-8/2009/12/editorschoice2009software.html).  Hothead earned the Eddy for bringing Jonathan Blow’s Braid (the time-bending Independent Games Festival winner) to the growing audience on the Mac.

Now in its twenty-fifth year, the Eddy Awards have annually highlighted the Mac products that represent usefulness, value, innovation, or just overall excellence. Hothead Games is in impressive company with this award, as other 2009 winners include Apple, Verizon, Panasonic and Dropbox.

“We’re honored to receive an award from a prestigious magazine like Macworld,” said Joel DeYoung, Hothead’s director of game technology and producer on the project. “It is part of our core purpose at Hothead to support indie development and meet the needs and desires of gamers around the world, regardless of platform. We’re excited to see others support our efforts and we will continue to lead in indie game collaboration in 2010 and beyond.”

Braid for Mac is currently available for $9.95 through multiple online distribution platforms, including IGN Entertainment’s digital retail store Direct2Drive (http://www.direct2drive.com/8107/product/Buy-Braid-%28Mac%29-Download) and has been rated “E 10+” for Everyone 10 and older by the Entertainment Software Rating Board for all platforms.
